Invisalign are clear aligners that are custom made for your mouth. They are virtually invisible and are tailored to fit snugly over your teeth. They act like braces would and slightly begin to shift your teeth over time and are made to be able to apply just the right amount of force to move the teeth exactly as they need to be moved whether it is vertically or horizontally, or even when teeth need to be slightly rotated.
To determine if Invisalign is a good solution for you, you should consider a few things. What exactly do you need to get fixed and how severe is the current condition? More severe cases will not make you a good candidate for Invisalign treatment. So, if you are experiencing a large overbite or other more advanced orthodontic problems, then you may want to explore other solutions.
However, if your case is more moderate and you are looking to fix gapped or crowded teeth, a slight overbite or underbite, or a crossbite, then an Invisalign treatment may be appropriate.
Next, you will want to consider your age. Invisalign is more suited for older teenagers and adults and offers them a way to fix their teeth without having to deal with the stigma of being that age and having traditional metal braces.
Younger people are not good candidates because their teeth are still in the process of growing so Invisalign may not be able to provide them with a proper fit.
To begin with Invisalign, you will first have your consultation, and you can then view your custom treatment plan. Your dentist will need to map out the treatment plan, the position and movements of your teeth, and how long the Invisalign treatment will need to be done.
Your aligners will then be custom tailored to you, and you will be required to wear them no less than twenty-two hours a day. They will also need to be taken out while eating and drinking, with the exception of drinking water.
Invisalign will require some dedication and determination from you to make sure they are where they need to be for as long as they need to be. If you leave them out too long or do not take care of them, they will not be able to do their job properly and will have no effect straightening out any crooked teeth or other problems.
